Day 0: Arrival in Moshi
- Arrive in Moshi, a town at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Transfer to your accommodation where you'll meet your trekking team.
- Attend a pre-trek briefing with your guide to discuss the details of the upcoming climb and undergo a gear check to ensure you're well-prepared.
Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
- After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate, the starting point of the Machame Route.
- Begin the trek through the dense and vibrant rainforest, characterized by unique flora and fauna.
- Hike to Machame Camp (3,010m / 9,878ft) where you'll set up camp, acclimatize, and enjoy your first night on the mountain.
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
- Today's trek leads you through the rainforest, gradually giving way to heath and moorland.
- Ascend to Shira Camp (3,845m / 12,615ft) where you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Shira Plateau and surrounding landscapes.
Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
- Traverse the alpine desert landscape, gaining altitude as you go.
- Reach Lava Tower (4,630m / 15,190ft), a prominent rock formation, and then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m / 12,992ft).
- The Barranco Wall ascent adds an exciting and challenging element to the day's trek.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
- Navigate the Barranco Wall, a steep and thrilling climb.
- Trek through the Karanga Valley, a beautiful and remote area.
- Arrive at Karanga Camp (4,035m / 13,267ft), a strategic point for acclimatization before the final ascent to the summit.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
- Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,640m / 15,223ft), the high camp positioned just below the summit.
- Rest and prepare for the summit attempt with your guide briefing you on the challenges ahead.
- The landscape transforms into an arctic desert with stunning views of glaciers.
Day 6: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
- Begin the summit attempt in the early hours of the morning (around midnight).
- Ascend through the night, reaching Stella Point (5,756m / 18,885ft) before making the final push to Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341ft) at sunrise.
- Celebrate your achievement, take in the breathtaking views, and then descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m / 10,170ft) for a well-deserved rest.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
- Descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate.
- Receive your summit certificates, a testament to your accomplishment.
- Transfer back to Moshi where you can reflect on your incredible journey and celebrate your successful Kilimanjaro climb.
