8 Days Rongai Route Climb.

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

• Arrive in Moshi, the gateway to Kilimanjaro.

Day 2: Nalemuru Gate to Simba Camp

• Drive to Nalemuru Gate, the starting point of the Rongai Route.
• Begin the trek through lush rainforest, home to diverse flora and fauna.
• Reach Simba Camp, the first campsite, for a night of rest and acclimatization.

Day 3: Simba Camp to Second Cave

• Trek through the enchanting Rongai Forest, experiencing changes in vegetation.
• Pass the iconic giant senecios as you ascend.
• Camp at Second Cave, enjoying a serene evening surrounded by the mountain's mystique.

Day 4: Second Cave to Kikelewa Cave

• Continue the ascent, passing the Third Cave on the way.
• Marvel at the stunning views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.
• Reach Kikelewa Cave, a unique campsite with a distinct atmosphere.

Day 5: Kikelewa Cave to Mawenzi Tarn

• Traverse the challenging terrain and ascend towards Mawenzi Tarn.
• Witness the changing landscape, characterized by alpine desert and rocky formations.
• Camp by the Tarn, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Kilimanjaro.

Day 6: Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut

• Hike across the lunar-like landscape, leaving behind vegetation.
• Arrive at Kibo Hut, the last stop before the summit push.
• Acclimatize and prepare for the demanding summit day.

Day 7: Summit Day - Uhuru Peak

• Start the ascent in the early hours, navigating through Gilman's Point.
• Witness the sunrise over the vast African plains.
• Reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro, and savor the accomplishment.
• Descend to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest, surrounded by the stunning landscapes.

Day 8: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

• Descend through moorland and rainforest zones.
• Arrive at Marangu Gate, completing the trek.
• Celebrate your achievement and receive certificates.
• Depart for home or choose to extend the adventure with an optional safari.
